Services to Youth

The Links, Incorporated created its first program facet, Services to Youth, to equip Black youth to use their intellect and spirit of achievement to become successful and productive citizens.

Notable Accomplishments

The Tacoma Chapter Services to Youth facet served Kitsap and Pierce Counties in a variety of ways:

  • National Community Service Project: Read Out Loud and Book Donations in support of the 43rd National Assembly 7500 Book Challenge. We exceeded our goal of 50 by collecting and providing 200 books to the Kitsap Community Resources Head Start program in Bremerton and two programs in Tacoma.
  • Conducted a blanket and sock drive for Coffee Oasis, an organization that runs homeless youth shelters in Kitsap and Pierce Counties.
  • School supply giveaway donation of 100 school supplies in partnership with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Back-to-School Backpack drive for families at Fort Lewis for enlisted personnel.
  • Provided blankets, socks, and hygiene products for 50 families through our partnership with the Power of Two organization.
